Now UPI(United Payments Interface) has made payment process easier for millions across India. It permits instant transfer of money from one bank account to the other using a mobile application. Service providers like Google Pay, PhonePe and NPCI’s BHIM allow the users to send and recive payments. All of this requires a good internet connection.

But in some cases when a user has no access to the internet. It may become difficult for a user to make online payments by using onlile payment service provider. So to avoid this type of issue, the *99# service brings banking services to everyone across the country. It is offered by 83 leading banks and 4 telecom service providers and can be accessed in 13 different languages including Hindi and English. Follow the below steps to make offline UPI payments.

Requard things For Making UPI Payment Without Internet

The mobile number must be registered with UPI.

The bank account should be linked to the same mobile number.

A fee of Rs 0.50 is charged for every such payment.

 

How To Make UPI Payment Without Internet: A Step-By-Step Guide

 

 

Set up:

  1. Dial *99# on the phone from the registered mobile number and call.
  2. Then, choose your desired language and enter your bank name.
  3. You will be shown a list of bank accounts that are linked to your number, so choose the one that you want to use by pressing the correct option.
  4. Now, enter the last 6 digits of your debit card alongside the expiry date.
  5. Once you have successfully set it up, you can make UPI payments without an Internet connection, as explained in the next steps.

Offline payment:

  1. Dial *99# on your phone and enter 1 to send money.
  2. Choose your desired option and enter the UPI ID/ phone number/ bank account number of the person you want to send money to.
  3. Then, enter the amount and your UPI PIN.
  4. Once done, your payment will be successfully made, and you will be charged a maximum of Rs. 0.50 per transaction for using the *99# service.
